These handmade, hampers are practical for just about anything from laundry to dog toys to firewood. Sturdy construction and two handled design make it easy to carry large and heavy loads. All baskets are woven by hand with elephant grass indigenous to the Bolgatanga area of Ghana, West Africa. Handles are covered with goat leather reinforcing it's construction while also adding an extra level of comfort when carrying a full load.

The majority of African baskets are shipped flat and can be easily reshaped by submerging in water. Maintain your Ghana basket by submerging it fully once or twice a year to hydrate the grasses and tighten up the weave. These baskets are a longstanding tradition in Ghana and you will be amazed at their durability as well as their stylish appearance.

Large hampers are approximately 19" in diameter by 21" high, with folding handles that add 4" when standing up.  Medium hampers are 17" in diameter and 19.5" high with folding handles that add 4" when standing up.  Small hampers are 16" in diameters and 19" high with folding handles that add 3.5" when standing up.

All Big Blue Moma baskets are made by hand and as such, size and shape may vary slightly from what is pictured. Dimensions are always approximate because each one is an individualized handmade work of art.
