Our Tall Bolga Laundry Baskets combine beautiful design with practical everyday storage. Handwoven in Bolgatanga, Ghana, these durable elephant grass baskets are a stylish and environmentally responsible alternative to plastic hampers.

Generously sized and built with sturdy construction, these baskets are perfect for laundry, blankets, dog toys, firewood, or everyday household storage. The tall shape provides excellent capacity while the two leather-wrapped handles make it easy to carry even heavy loads.

Each basket is handwoven from elephant grass indigenous to northern Ghana, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. The handles are reinforced with goat leather, adding both strength and comfort when carrying a full basket.

Like many traditional Bolga baskets, these hampers are shipped folded for safe transport and can be easily reshaped. Simply dampen or briefly submerge the basket in water and shape it by hand. Periodically rehydrating the grass helps maintain flexibility and tighten the weave.

These baskets are part of a long-standing weaving tradition in Ghana and are valued for their durability, natural materials, and timeless style. No two baskets are exactly alike, making each one a unique piece of functional craftsmanship.

Reshaping Your Basket

Your basket ships folded flat for efficient transport. If it arrives slightly misshapen:

1. Dip the basket briefly in water
2. Shape it gently with your hands
3. Allow it to air dry
